Who are we?
The SEQMBC is a social,
semi sporting club formed by a group of like minded individuals,
who enjoy a good time. We have combined our passions of,
cars and bikes, speed, having a good time, getting away
for the weekend, racing, camping out and generally enjoying
ourselves with family and friends alike.
The
common link is we all own motorcycle engined off road
buggies, which we all want to drive as fast as we can,
as often as we can! These buggies, which we term as mini
buggies, are a barrel of fun and just love to be driven
faaaast!

Why Mini Buggies?
We termed the phrase mini buggies for
two reasons.
One, because all the buggies in our club are powered by
motorcycle or small industrial engines.
Two, to differentiate our buggies from the larger car
engined off road racing buggies.
However the term “mini buggy”
is relative. While some of the buggies are quite small
and simple, with 125cc or smaller motors, others are as
wide as a medium sized road car, with one liter and larger
bike engines, propelling vehicles that weigh as little
as 250kg!
The clubs formation came about when two
mates decided they both wanted to build an “Edge”
buggy each.

“Edge
Products” is a Western Australian company
specializing in manufacturing or providing plans for the
individual to manufacture for themselves, a range of off
road buggies. When the two mates contacted “Edge
Products” to enquire about building a buggy each,
they discovered that “Edge Products” has an
extensive web site. A web site which includes a large
and very well patronized Forum site. It was from this
forum site that we discovered just how popular these mini
buggies were and how many were right here in south east
Queensland.
So we started our own thread on the forum,
asking for expressions of interest about forming a club.
The response was overwhelming. Despite a couple of false
starts, the club was formed on Sunday 20th August 2006.
Our focus is provide a fun environment for the whole family
to come and share our passion. We believe that as a group
we will be able to establish our own buggy sites, for
fun weekends or single day events. Both social and sporting.
The club consists primarily of “Edge”
buggies, but is in no way restricted to “Edge”
products. Any type of motorcycle or small industrial engined
buggy is welcome. Single seat, two seat. Four wheels,
six wheels, no suspension, four wheel coil over shock
suspension, if you have a buggy bring it along, your more
than welcome.
But, be warned, once you start
down the buggy path, the “Buggy Bug” will
bite! And the “Bug” bites deep!
